Chai Blends

Chai Blends In many languages, chai or cha is the word for tea. So it is really a misconception that ‘chai’ in itself is a tea made with cardamom, ginger, and the other common spices. In the Western world however, the word chai has come to mean tea with spices (masala chai is Indian and means spiced tea) and often served with milk and sweetened (chai latte, chai tea latte).

Unlike many milky teas, which are brewed in water with milk later added, traditional masala chai is often brewed directly in the milk and served sweetened. You can however brew your chai tea in water, and then add the milk after. If you brew your chai in water and wish to add milk, you should make a really strong brew (by using more tea) and then add the hot, steamed milk (similar to a cappuccino).
