Sage Leaf Tea Sage tea is antiseptic, carminative, oestrogenic, astringent, tonic and reduces sweating. It is believed to keep cholesterol in check, to increase the activity of antioxidants and to help reduce hot flushes. It is also believed to help with weight loss, as it is a natural remedy for speeding up the metabolism. In addition to these benefits it is also believed to help cleanse the liver and kidneys. To brew your sage tea, use one teaspoon of the herb for each 100 ml of water. Pour the boiling hot water over the leaves and steep for 3-5 minutes before straining off the leaves. Add some lemon and/or honey to taste if preferred
